Chiropractic
What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a licensed health care profession that emphasizes the body’s ability to heal itself. Treatment typically involves manual therapy, often including spinal manipulation. Other forms of treatment, such as exercise and nutritional counseling, may be used as well.
What Do Chiropractors Do?
Chiropractic is a health profession focused on treating spinal and musculoskeletal problems primarily through manual manipulation. A chiropractor does not prescribe medication, but relies on a variety of manual therapies, including spinal manipulation, mobilization, and adjunctive therapies, to improve function and provide pain relief.
Chiropractors are a unique type of medical professional, combining the science of treatment with an in-depth knowledge of the body and how it works. Our team is able to provide several benefits, including pain relief, increased mobility and an improved sense of well-being.
Chiropractors approach patient care in a manner similar to that used in conventional medicine:
1. Patient history: obtain a detailed health history in the the patients words.
2. Perform an examination.
3. Orthopedic tests
4. Develop a working diagnosis.
5. They then develop a management plan, start treatment, and monitor the patient’s
progress. Chiropractors often treat problems related to the musculoskeletal system.
Our Approach
Our center is unlike any other chiropractic health and pain management center in our area. We offer evidence-based, holistic approach to our patients needs, including spinal manipulation (adjustment), myofascial release using Active Release Techniques, Logan Basic technique, Activator, nutritional evaluation and exercises for rehabilitation.
We focus help patients on individualized needs and patient centered care and treatment. We understand everyone is unique in their ways.
We understand every patient´s need is different, so while chiropractic adjustment is one tool, some patients might benefit from myofascial release, while others require a combination of joint manipulation with rehabilitation technique.

Low Back Pain
Low back pain can come from a number of causes, as well as range in severity. A low back injury can be mild at times and sometimes can be so debilitating. In fact, millions of people around the world experience low back pain or discomfort. Dull pain, achy pain, burning or spasming in the lower back is nothing to mess with.
Low-back pain is a very common condition, but often the cause is unknown. Most people have significant acute back pain at least once in their lives. Sometimes it resolves on its own without specific treatment and other times it requires treatment to relieve the pain.
Spinal manipulation, acupuncture, massage, and or yoga like exercises are complementary health approaches often used by people with low-back pain. They are all included in a longer list of treatment options recommended by the American Pain Society and the American College of Physicians for patients whose low-back pain does not improve with more conservative care. Other options include chiropractic care, exercise, physical/occupational rehabilitation, and relaxation
Neck Pain
Neck pain is a common complaint. Neck muscles can be strained from poor posture whether it's leaning over your computer or hunching over your workbench. Arthritis of the cervical spine (neck area) also is a common cause of neck pain.
Some common presentations of neck pain include:
Decreased Range of Motion
Pain With Turning Head
Sitting in front of computer can cause neck pain
Pain shooting into the Shoulders or Arms from the Neck
Tension in Neck Muscles that Increases with Stress
Tension Headaches (pain in the back of the neck)
Most stiff neck or pain is caused by improper posture like an incorrect sleeping position or seating in a bad position in front of the computer desk for hours on end. Neck pain becomes serious when it affects your day-to-day activities like turning your head, ability to work or even sleeping. Neck pain can be caused by a misalignment in your spine that puts excessive pressure on the surrounding muscles, nerves, and ligaments. A chiropractor can provide treatment for this problem and can help alleviate your symptoms.
Muscle Spasm
This is when a muscle involuntarily contracts, this is called a muscle spasm. There are many different types of muscle spasms. Commonly they occur in skeletal muscle and are the result of an injury or overworked muscles.
Muscle spasms may feel like a slight twitch or a painful cramp, and they can occur in the muscles in any part of the body. Muscle spasms can last just a few seconds or up to several days. Spasms can also occur in various types of tissue and may be caused by stress, medication, over-exercising, or other factors. They are treated with chiropractic manipulation, myofascial release, physical therapy and stretching/exercise. If you experience any muscle spasm we can help you at our center.
TMJ: Temporomandibular Joint Disorders
What is TMJ?
Temporomandibular joint disorder is a condition that affects the temporomandibular (jaw) joint, which leads to muscle spasms and pain, that can cause clicking and audible popping in your jaw, headaches, ear problems, and in some patients difficulty in opening and closing the mouth. This may interfere with your ability to perform your daily activities such as brushing your teeth or eating. This may be caused by trauma, postural problems or oral/dental work like surgery.
How can Chiropractic help?
Chiropractic can help with manipulation of the joint and with myofascial work around the muscle of the area and other means such as exercise can also help reduce pain and muscle tightness, and maintain normal jaw motion.
What can happen if I don't get treatment?
You can have a continuation of problems in your jaw, with an increase of severity of the pain
and/or clicking, and headaches that lead to further dysfunction.
